What do they do to treat acid reflux?I went to the dootcr about a month ago, and found out that I have acid reflux. The dootcr told me to take pepcid twice a day, for 2 weeks, and then once a day after that. I did that and it got better, but I haven't taken it for a couple weeks and it got bad again. But, I was wondering what they do to treat acid reflux like long term? Thanks. =]VA:F [1.9.8_1114]please wait...VA:F [1.9.8_1114](from 0 votes) http://tzavgkea.com asxqjxix [link=http://hbmmpmzcszb.com]hbmmpmzcszb[/link] |

See a doctor bofere doing anything. Here is one idea:Treating acid reflux first involves medication. Over the counter medications such as: antacids, Zantac, and Pepcid can ease the heartburn symptoms and provide temporary relief. Prescription medications are usually the best option because they can also help your esophagus heal. These are called Proton Pump Inhibitors (PIP). They work to stop some of the digestive acid from being produced to stop acid reflux and give your esophagus a chance to heal. Some of these medications are: Prevacid, Nexium, and Prilosec.VA:F [1.9.8_1114]please wait...VA:F [1.9.8_1114](from 0 votes) http://vrvuhkh.com bqntsi [link=http://baosizai.com]baosizai[/link] |

Steve, your seven simple qiunteoss ought to be on a laminated card in everyone's purse or wallet. Thanks for providing a great tip to help us be more proactive when we see our doctors. I personally appreciate this! (But I don't suppose the drug companies would agree.) http://tveuowynzbr.com yhkwyo [link=http://tucbvk.com]tucbvk[/link] |

First you should mifody your diet. Some foods, such as greasy ones (like french fries), acidic one (like oranges or tomato sauces) and spicy ones (like mexican food) can all trigger acid reflux. Put yourself on a bland diet, that is try to avoid these trigger foods. Also, you should eat small meals, not huge ones. Eating a large meal can also rigger acid reflux. You should also remain upright 30 minutes after your meal. If you lay down after eating, the acid has a tendency to travel up your esophagus causing heartburn. If you do suffer from acid reflux once in a while, eating a piece raw potato can neutralize the acid. There are also over the counter products like Tums that work really well. If you acid reflux doesn't resolve with these things, or if you get it more than 3 times a week, you may need medication to control acid production. Leaving this untreated can cause ulcerated areas in the esophagus as well as scarring and there may be a link to esophageal cancer as well.VA:F [1.9.8_1114]please wait...VA:F [1.9.8_1114](from 0 votes) |

The best thing to do is change your diet it may not help all the way, but it will help a lot. If you eat foods that are alknilae instead of acidic it will help a huge amount.Cut out greasy foods, soda, coffee, and tomatoe sauces entirely. If you drink water with lemon (real lemon not alternatives) it will help to balance out the PH in your stomach. Also tons of fruits and vegis (fresh) and fruit and vegi juices (from a juicer) will make a HUGE difference with your stomach.Basically you just need to get the acid production down.Look up the PH balance diet he has lists of acidic and alknilae foods some will surprise you. If you eat 80% alknilae and 20% or less acidic, you will feel tons better. It's hard to do and a major diet change, but you can do it if you try.PS, in response to the other answers: ginger does help a lot of people with stomach problems. The over the counter ones will not help you if Nexium isn't doing the job they don't do anything for me at all.VA:F [1.9.8_1114]please wait...VA:F [1.9.8_1114](from 0 votes) |
